SYDNEY, 3 February 2011: Qantas today announced it would resume services to and from Cairns on Friday 4 January 2011.
Services to and from Townsville remain under review subject to improved operating conditions.
In light of extreme weather conditions associated with Tropical Cyclone Yasi, and the resulting airport closures, Qantas cancelled all Cairns and Townsville services on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 February.

Qantas continues to working closely with the Queensland Government to help affected communities recover from the impact of the cyclone.
As part of the emergency response, Qantas will provide Emergency Management Queensland with up to 1,500 seats into Cairns and Townsville over the next five days, including on positioning flights operating tonight and a special Boeing 767 service.
