Following the decision of RAK Airways (“Company”) to cease business operations as at 31st December 2013, the Department of Civil Aviation in Ras Al Khaimah (“DCA”) has appointed a committee in relation to the Company (“Committee”), in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (2) of 2014 amending certain provisions of Law No. (1) of 2012 pertaining to the Regulation of the Department of Civil Aviation in Ras Al Khaimah (“Law”).
The Committee has been given various powers under the Law and its role effectively includes investigating the Company, its operations and the claims made against it. The Committee is required to make recommendations to the DCA and report its findings on the Company’s financial, administrative and technical capabilities and position.
If any creditor has a claim against the Company, they must prove their debt and comply with the process put in place by the Committee. Such creditors should contact the Committee at committee@rakdca.gov.ae, providing relevant contact details and requesting a Proof of Debt form. Claims will only be considered by the Committee if submitted with the appropriate Proof of Debt and copies of supporting documents and received by the Committee by no later than 8th May 2014.
