Record Year for Mahan Air

Mahan Air experienced record growth in 2010, with available seat kilometres up by 31% to 7.9 billion over 2009. Passengers carried increased by 47% to 3.8 million. More than 15700 scheduled passenger flights were undertaken, with an average load factor of 75% a notable improvement over the 2009 figure of 69%.

The Mahan Air fleet grew to 32 aircraft during the year following the delivery of seven additional Airbus A300-600 aircraft.

Additional aircraft capacity enabled Mahan Air to increase frequencies on domestic trunk routes from both Tehran and Mashad whilst international service frequencies were increased to Bangkok, Istanbul and Amritsar. New scheduled service was launched to Kuala Lumpur and Almaty as well as Phuket during the 2010.

Although the global air transport industry faced enormous challenges in 2010, Mahan Air managed to achieve record growth in passenger traffic, fleet and route network. In doing so, it remains firmly on track for its long term development objectives.
