RYANAIR 1ST EU AIRLINE TO CARRY RECORD 8M PAX IN A MONTH

Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, today (3rdAug) announced that it is the first European airline to carry a record of over 8m passengers in one month as its traffic grew by 6% in July to 8.1m passengers – smashing the previous record of 7.8m passengers Ryanair set in August 2010.

Ryanair carried over 75m passengers in the 12 months ending July 2011, as more and more EU passengers switch from high fare, fuel surcharging flag carriers, such as Air France, BA and Lufthansa to Ryanair’s lowest fares and industry leading customer service (including No. 1 punctuality, baggage delivery and flight completion rate).

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:
“Ryanair’s unbeatable formula of the lowest fares, no fuel surcharges and industry leading customer service continues to encourage passengers to switch from high fares, fuel surcharging, strike-ridden flag carriers such as Air France, BA and Lufthansa.

Ryanair’s July traffic increased by 6% to a record 8.1m passengers, the first time any European airline has carried over 8m passengers in one month. With over 75million passengers in the 12 months ending July 2011 Ryanair remains ‘the world’s favourite airline.”
