Ryanair Statement On Italian ATC Strikes (Saturday)

Ryanair, Europe’s favourite low fares airline, regrets to advise passengers of an Italian Air Traffic Control strike which will cause 96 flights to/from Italy to be cancelled tomorrow (Sat, 6 Sep) between 12:30hrs and 16:30hrs (Italian time). Further flight delays and cancellations should be expected.

Passengers due to travel on Saturday should check the status of their flight on the Ryanair.com website before departing for the airport and affected passengers have been sent flight updates via email and SMS text. Flight updates will also be posted on the @Ryanair Twitter page and the Ryanair.com website. Passengers booked to travel on flights to/from Italy on Saturday, 6 September, can transfer onto alternative flights by contacting Ryanair’s reservation centres.

Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said:

“Ryanair regrets to advise passengers that 96 flights will be cancelled on Saturday, 6th September, due to a four-hour Italian ATC strike and further delays and cancellations are likely. We sincerely apologise to all passengers who have had their travel plans disrupted by these unjustified ATC strikes. All passengers scheduled to fly to or from Italy on Saturday, 6th September should check the status of their flight on the Ryanair.com website – where updates will be published – before travelling to the airport.”
