Sabena technics starts 2015 under the sign of development

In June 2013, Sabena technics has been selected by Airbus for the construction and operation of a painting facilities based in Toulouse and dedicated to their Airbus A320 aircraft. After less than a year of work, Sabena technics, celebrated today the grand opening of its brand new facilities and shared its ambitions for the future.

Built side by side on Toulouse Blagnac airport, hangars are equipped with a modern dockage set and a highly efficient vertical ventilation system. With the support of his current painting subsidiaries, based in Dinard and Bordeaux, Sabena technics painting TLS will be able to accommodate and paint over 80 Airbus A320 aircraft per year within the 15-year contract signed with Airbus.

Recruited and trained since 2013, the painting teams have already started the activity and welcomed their first aircraft on January 6th.

The construction of these new facilities illustrates the Group’s commitment to keep on developing and maintaining its status as a key player in the aero industry. “We have significantly invested in the past three years to lower our fixed costs and increase our competitiveness on the market,” said Rodolphe Marchais, Chairman and CEO of Sabena technics. "The positive operating results achieved since 2012 allow us to look at the future with confidence. Our ambition is to grow our business by 10% per year by 2020 and we can count on our long-time expertise, our proximity and our professionalism to achieve this goal”.

Sabena technics, which has more than 2,200 employees located in 15 locations worldwide, welcomed last year over 500 aircraft in its facilities and has provided overhaul & repair of nearly 50 000 aircraft components. A performance fairly divided between its public and private customers, both in France and abroad.
