Scoot to move operations from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Don Mueang (DMK)

29 July 2014, Singapore – Scoot is shaking things up in Thailand as we move our operations from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). Starting 1st September, all Scoot flights will operate exclusively to and from Don Mueang.

Don Mueang, Bangkok’s “downtown airport”, offers shorter, cheaper and faster access to the city centre – saving you time and money. What’s more, as the home base of Scoot’s partner Nok Air and soon-to-be sister airline NokScoot, Don Mueang will provide guests a huge range of connecting options – including to more than 20 Thai towns and cities.

Interline with Nok Air

Coinciding with the move to Don Mueang, Scoot will offer seats on Nok Air’s flights between Don Mueang and 21 cities in Thailand, including Chiang Rai, and Surat Thani. Guests will be able to buy, in a single transaction from Scoot’s website, itineraries from Singapore through to Chiang Rai, or from Sydney to Mae Sot with travel starting on 1st September or later. Likewise, Nok’s guests can easily fly to Singapore, Gold Coast, Sydney or Perth, or any of Scoot’s other destinations.

Scoot will be notifying all guests booked on its flights to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport departing on or after 1st September of the change of airport, and conducting prominent advertising between now and the changeover date.

Great Destination Options and Great Value Fares

A basic one-way airfare from Singapore to Chiang Rai via Bangkok (DMK) will start from approximately S$116 excluding taxes, fees and surcharges.

From 1st September, the timing of Scoot’s flight to Bangkok will be changed (see details in table below); the other change is that flights will operate to/from Don Mueang (DMK) instead of Suvarnabhumi (BKK). Connections to/from other Scoot flights are unaffected.
