Silver Airways Strengthens Leadership Team

Silver Airways today announced that it has bolstered the strength of its management team by adding three new vice presidents to key strategic leadership positions further enhancing the airline’s commitment to operational excellence and outstanding customer service.

Vicky Stennes, Vice President – Airports, In-Flight, & Guest Services

An accomplished aviation industry leader with more than 30 years of experience, Ms. Stennes is one of the most highly regarded figures in airline customer service. Prior to joining Silver Airways, she served as Vice President, In-Flight Experience for JetBlue Airways where she played an instrumental role in leading the carrier to achieve eight consecutive years of J. D. Power and Associates Award for the highest customer satisfaction rating among North American low-cost carriers.

Ms. Stennes started her career at Delta Air Lines, serving within a variety of senior leadership roles in the Airports, In-Flight, Consumer Affairs, Onboard Services, and Catering departments.

A regularly featured speaker at hospitality, retail, healthcare, and research conferences and educational events, Ms. Stennes is a member/participant of various Customer Experience advisory boards and forums. She is also the Chairman and past President of the International Flight Services Association (IFSA).

Douglas Shockey, Vice President – Technical Operations

With 31 years of airline experience, Mr. Shockey is an expert in the fields of aircraft maintenance, engineering, airline operations, operational strategic planning, and FAR part 121 air carrier operations. Most recently, Mr. Shockey was Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Pinnacle Airlines Corp. where Flight Operations, In Flight, Customer Service, Marketing, Technical Operations, and IT all reported directly to him. Shockey started at Pinnacle as Vice President of Maintenance with responsibility for implementing the automation of controlling company assets and tracking financial and operational performance within the maintenance department.

Mr. Shockey began his airline career in 1981 at Air Midwest as Vice President of Maintenance and then joined Flagship Airlines, Inc. as Vice President of Maintenance. In both roles his responsibilities included oversight of maintenance department policies and programs, recording and reporting requirements of the FAA, vendor repair and purchasing contracts, and maintenance and repair of all company aircraft.

Thomas F. Murrill, Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer

Over his 30-year career, Mr. Murrill has served in senior human resource, legal, and administrative roles in multiple customer-orientated companies with a strong focus on “best in class” people processes. Those organizations include: Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.; The Steak N’ Shake Company; Chemlawn Services Corporation; and Burlington Express Global, an air express company where he helped develop and launch a hub and spoke based domestic cargo airline.

Mr. Murrill’s responsibilities at Silver will encompass oversight of all human resource functions including recruitment, training, development, compensation and benefits, as well as performance-based reward programs.

Mr. Murrill earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University at San Francisco, and has a Juris Doctorate (of Law) from Pepperdine.
