SKYWEST AIRLINES ROUTE UPDATE

Skywest, the Australian and South East Asia regional airline, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an extension on its exclusive license to the Perth to Derby (Curtin) Regular Public Transport (RPT) route for an additional 12 months.

The extension of this exclusive contract for the Perth to Derby route was confirmed by the Western Australian Department of Transport for a period of 12 months effective from 19 August 2012.

Having initially been awarded a short-term license for the Perth to Derby route earlier this year Skywest’s ongoing commitment to the local Derby community has included the introduction of an Airbus A320 aircraft on route so as to increase capacity to offer 748 seats each way on a weekly basis since the 5th of June 2012. Skywest currently offers five return flights per week between Perth and Derby.

Chairman Jeff Chatfield commented: “Skywest is committed to offering long-term support to regional communities, and we look forward to the opportunity to deliver a reliable and high quality service to meet the needs of individuals and businesses in the Derby community. We are committed to growing our operations and enhancing our position as the leading airline in Western Australia both by serving communities and also further increasing our fly-in fly-out services for the major mining companies operating in the region.”
