(NASDAQ: SKYW) (“SkyWest”) reported a 43.2 percent increase in departures to 112,446 for September compared to 78,500 for the same period last year. Passenger boardings for September increased 44.4 percent to 4,586,941 compared to 3,175,783 for the same period last year. SkyWest also reported a 51.8 percent increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for September, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 49.9 percent compared to September 2010. The combined airlines generated 2.39 billion RPMs for the month, while ASMs increased to 2.99 billion. Load factor was 79.9 percent compared to 78.9 percent, up 1.0 percentage points compared to September 2010. The substantial increases for each of the items are due primarily to the acquisition of ExpressJet Airlines on November 12, 2010.
