The Board of Skywest Airlines Ltd (“Skywest”) is delighted to announce that the Company has signed a scheduled charter contract with BHP Billiton Iron Ore for air charter services from Perth to Area C and Yandi in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The key terms of the contract with BHP Billiton Iron Ore are as follows:
The contract is for the provision of scheduled jet charter services between Perth and Area C for BHP’s Ore Mine for the production workers;
The Air Services Contract’s term is for 12 months with an option for BHP to extend for a further 12 months from September 2012.
The contract provides for Skywest to operate regular fly-in fly-out return passenger services for a minimum of four times each week using F100 jets with 100 seat capacity;
The revenues of the contract billed by Skywest will be at market rates but will vary depending upon the precise number of services flown over the term. The contract includes provision for price adjustments to reflect increases in fuel prices.
