Solomon Airlines has advised that its flagship Airbus A320 will be undergoing scheduled annual maintenance in Manila, Philippines, from 10-29 March 2015.
In the interim period, the carrier will operate a chartered Nauru Airlines Boeing B737-300 on its four weekly Honiara-Brisbane services and weekly services to Port Vila, Vanuatu, and Nadi, Fiji.
Solomon Airlines’ General Manager of Operations & Commercial, Gus Kraus said the scheduled maintenance program was standard for the A320 and in complete keeping with the carrier’s extremely high standards of safety.
“The Nauru Airlines’ B737-300’s configuration is slightly smaller than our Airbus A320 but is more than adequate to cater to our requirements across the period of maintenance,” Mr Kraus said.
“The Airbus schedule of maintenance encompasses all aircraft irrespective of type.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this situation may have for our passengers but look forward to maintaining our schedule to our clients and the country with this leased-in aircraft.”
