Spanair steps up cooperation with Lufthansa Technik

The Spanish airline, Spanair S.A., and Hamburg-based Lufthansa Technik AG are stepping up a successful partnership that dates back over 10 years. Lufthansa Technik will now provide technical support for the landing gears, thrust reversers and auxiliary power units (APUs) for the airline’s 24-aircraft fleet of modern Airbuses to the end of 2019. The relevant contracts have now been renewed and their scope increased.

Spanair has been a major customer of Lufthansa Technik since 1999. Under a Total Technical Support TTS® agreement Lufthansa Technik has amongst other things been looking after the engines and components of the Airbus fleet in Hamburg.

Commenting on the deal, Luke Farajallah, Chief Operating Officer of Spanair, said: “We regard this partnership as an important contributing factor to Spanair’s overall quality and are therefore delighted that we can further rely on the support of Lufthansa Technik.”

“Thanks to a long-standing relationship of trust with the Spanair team, we have been able to incorporate some highly innovative elements in the new agreements,” said Markus Salzig, Sales Executive Spain at Lufthansa Technik.
