Xiamen, 12 October 2011 – ST Aerospace is awarded a contract to support Japanese low fare airline Solaseed Air’s CFM56-7B and CFM56-7BE engines, powering its entire fleet of 13 Next- Generation Boeing 737 aircraft over five years. The services provided to Solaseed Air will involve off-wing engine maintenance support, technical support and short term leasing of the CFM56-7B engines.
The CFM56-7BE-powered Boeing 737 boasts an enhanced aircraft/engine combination that provides a two percent improvement in fuel consumption, which translates to a two percent reduction in carbon emissions. Additionally, the enhanced CFM56-7BE engine will provide up to four percent lower maintenance costs. The CFM56-7B/7BE engine is the sole engine for the Boeing Next-Generation Boeing 737 family of aircraft, with over 8,022 engines delivered to-date.
