New airliner was delivered to Armavia on April 19, 2011. The aircraft was put into commercial operation within unprecedentedly short time after delivery, having started service on April 21 with flights Erevan – Moscow – Erevan.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 has already performed 24 flights at such routes as Ereven – Athens – Erevan, Erevan – Donetsk – Erevan, Erevan – Aleppo – Erevan, Erevan – Teheran – Erevan, Erevan – Tel –Aviv – Erevan and Erevan – Simferopol – Erevan. During initial period of operation the commercial flights are assisted by Superjet International instructor pilots Leonid Chikunov and Sergey Korostiev.

“The aircraft demonstrates remarkable performance at operation. The flights go without any serious delays. All flights are made in automatic control mode at the altitude of 35000 – 39000ft. The speed is 0,78-0,8M. SSJ 100 has got remarkable flight deck ergonomics and control features. It’s easy and comfortable to handle”, – said Armavia’s SSJ100 captain Aram Egoyan.

“The Sukhoi Superjet 100 perfectly matches the strategy of Armavia to develop the routes between Middle East and Europe, using Zvartnots airport as a hub. We expect that the second aircraft will join Armavia fleet in June 2011”, – said Mikhail Bagdasarov, the President of Armavia airlines.
