Supervisory Board appoints Jaan Albrecht as new CEO

In its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines appointed Jaan Albrecht as the airline’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from 1 November 2011. This means the Executive Board of Austrian Airlines will consist of three members in future; in addition to Jaan Albrecht (aged 56), the Executive Board team will continue to include Andreas Bierwirth (40) and Peter Malanik (50).

Stefan H. Lauer, Chair of the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines: „In Jaan Albrecht, we are pleased to have won a top manager for Austrian Airlines from the Champions League of our industry. As CEO of the Star Alliance, he made a decisive contribution to shaping the successful development of the world’s largest airline alliance. With his valuable and wide-ranging experience, he will strengthen our Executive Board team and give an important stimulus to the ongoing development of Austrian Airlines.“

Legal
Revision
?Peter Malanik – Chief Operating Officer (COO):
Flight Operations
Ground Services
Technical Services and Maintenance
Hub Operations, Quality Management & Corporate Security
Human Resources

Malanik will also remain responsible for the interests of Tyrolean.
