SURINAM AIRWAYS Extends A340 Maintenance Contract With AFI KLM E&M

Paris, Amstelveen, 27 May 2014 – Surinam Airways recently decided to extend the maintenance contract for its Airbus A340-300 signed earlier with AFI KLM E&M. The original agreement signed in November 2009 covered full aircraft maintenance and overhaul.

Customer satisfaction with service quality
The recently-extended contract between the two groups includes engineering services, A-checks, engine and component repair with pool access and deployment of a Main Base Kit. A separate contract is in place for line maintenance of the aircraft at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

The trust-based relationship between the two companies and the high levels of quality and performance across the full array of services delivered by AFI KLM E&M prompted Surinam Airways to renew its trust in the MRO group and extend its contract.

Ewald Henshuys, Chief Executive Officer of Surinam Airways, said: “Since 2009, we have been able to gauge AFI KLM E&M expertise and know-how. The services provided for maintaining our aircraft, have given us complete satisfaction, which is why we are confidently extending our contract.”

Fabrice Defrance, Senior Vice President Commercial AFI KLM E&M, stated: “We are delighted that Surinam Airways has renewed its trust in us. In addition to underscoring the excellence and reliability of all our maintenance solutions for the A340 product, the extending of the contract is also a sign of the quality of our relations with Surinam Airways, one of our privileged partners.”
