TAP carries over one million passengers between Portugal and France for the first time

With daily flights from April 2011, Bordeaux will be the sixth French city serviced by the airline

In 2010, TAP flew more than one million passengers on its routes operating between Portugal and France for the first time, beating the previous record number of passengers transported in one year between the two countries. TAP has just announced the inauguration of daily flights to Bordeaux – the sixth TAP destination in France – consolidating its growing presence in that market.

With a total of 1,002,878 passengers carried between Portugal and the French cities of Paris, Toulouse, Nice, Lyon and Marseilles, TAP recorded year-on-year growth of 8.4%, up from 925,000 passengers.

At Lisbon Airport, two of the three European destinations with the highest growth in 2010 were in fact Lyon (14.7%) and Paris/Orly (13.9%), both routes operated by TAP.

Corresponding to the increase in demand and with a view to the continuous diversification and improvement in its operations in the French market, one of the most important for the airline, TAP will be inaugurating a daily flight between Lisbon and Bordeaux in April 2011.

In the peak summer demand period, TAP will be offering a total of 152 flights per week between Portugal and France: 49 flights per week between Lisbon and Paris and 21 between Porto and Paris respectively. TAP also operates 20 weekly flights from Lisbon to Nice and Lyon and 14 from Lisbon to Marseilles and Toulouse.
