The newly founded SunExpress Deutschland GmbH has engaged Lufthansa Technik to provide all-round technical support for its entire fleet of six Boeing 737-800 aircraft. SunExpress Deutschland commenced operations on 8 June with three aircraft. Three further airplanes are due to be delivered in the winter.
The Total Technical Support (TTS®) contract extends from line maintenance to full provisioning with components and materials, including logistics and engine maintenance. Lufthansa Technik will provide line maintenance support at the Frankfurt and Stuttgart stations and for this purpose stocks of components, wheels, brakes and other materials required for maintenance and repair purposes are to be established.
Commenting on the agreement, Paul Schwaiger, Chief Executive Officer of SunExpress Deutschland GmbH, said, “Thanks to this new partnership with Lufthansa Technik SunExpress Deutschland will benefit not only from the quality for which Lufthansa is renowned but also from an important locational advantage. Our Boeing jets stationed at German airports will be technically supported by Lufthansa Technik locally, giving us extra certainty and flexibility in our flying operations.”
“In SunExpress Deutschland we have gained a young, up-and-coming airline as a new customer. We look forward to giving the airline the best possible support service under our comprehensive contract,” said Wolfgang Weynell, Vice President Marketing & Sales at Lufthansa Technik.
