Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) held its Board of Directors Meeting, chaired by Mr. Ampon Kittiampon , THAI’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, with the following results.
Operating Results for February 2013
The THAI Board of Directors acknowledged the Company’s good operating performance for February 2013 where THAI carried 1.79 million passengers, an increase of 0.14 million or 8.5 percent in passengers carried compared to February 2012.
The Company’s Available Seat–Kilometer (ASK) and Revenue Passenger–Kilometer (RPK) increased 3.6 and 5.4 percent, respectively, resulting in an average Cabin Factor of 80.4 percent, which was higher than the same month last year at an average of 79.0 percent. Cabin Factor on regional routes increased from 73.2 percent to 79.2 percent, and on domestic routes increased from 82.8 percent to 83.4 percent. THAI Smile’s overall cabin factor averaged 81.8 percent, with Cabin Factor on international routes at 78.7 percent and on domestic routes was 82.9 percent.
The Company’s Cargo and Commercial Mail operations remained effected by the world economic slowdown, which resulted in a 4.7 percent decrease in Revenue Freight Ton-Kilometer (RFTK) compared to the same month last year. Available Dead Ton-Kilometers (ADTK) increased by 0.5 percent which resulted in a Freight Load Factor averaging 51.4 percent, lower than the same month last year at an average of 54.1 percent.
