The Finnish Flight Attendants' Association (SLSY) and Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) have issued new strike warnings

The Finnish Flight Attendants’ Association (SLSY) and Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) have issued warnings of new industrial actions to the Association of Support Service Industries. Industrial actions would take place from 3pm EET November 27 to November 30.. The unions have already issued strike warnings according to which industrial actions would take place from 3pm EET on November 15 until November 23. A new strike period would significantly impact Finnair’s traffic.

“We find the new strike warnings strange since the conciliation process to avoid industrial actions, which have been announced earlier, are ongoing in the office of the state conciliator. We have proposed various ways to resolve the dispute, but unfortunately none of them have been found acceptable,” says Chief Executive Officer Pekka Vauramo. “If the strikes threatened for November 15 go ahead, they would have a significant impact on our operations. An extension of these strikes would further weaken our common chances to survive the fierce structural transformation facing the whole commercial aviation sector and create jobs in Finland. At Finnair, we are all affected by the cost saving programs in one way or another. And I am very sorry that the strike threat is causing uncertainty for our customers.

Customers are advised to ensure that correct contact details, including mobile phone number, are included in their reservations. Information on flights will be updated at www.finnair.fi/en/info should the strike occur. Information will also be available on Twitter at https://twitter.com/finnair.
