Thierry Antinori (49) leaving Lufthansa Group

Thierry Antinori, member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board until 31 March 2011, has informed the Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines that he shall not be assuming the position of Chairman and CEO of Austrian Airlines, citing career plans outside the Lufthansa Group as the reason for his decision.

Thierry Antinori had been appointed new Chairman and CEO of Austrian Airlines with effect from 1 April 2011 at the Supervisory Board’s meeting on 1 December 2010, in which it had also rearranged the responsibilities on the airline’s Executive Board.

The Steering Committee of the Supervisory Board has asked the airline’s current Executive Board members, Dr. Peter Malanik and Dr. Andreas Bierwirth, to conduct the business of Austrian Airlines according to their current responsibilities, until a succession plan for the position of the Chairman and CEO has been decided on.
