Tigerair launches only direct flight from Singapore to Jinan

Singapore, 27 August 2014: Tigerair Singapore continues its expansion into China with the launch of the only direct flight from Singapore to Jinan (济南). Jinan – capital of the Shandong province, one of the essential birthplaces of the Chinese civilisation, is widely connected and easily accessible to many neighbouring destinations.

From 16 September 2014, Tigerair will fly direct from Singapore Changi Airport to Jinan every Tuesday. The return flight from Jinan to Singapore will be every Wednesday. Jinan will be the 10th Greater China port of call for Tigerair.

“Jinan is another historical Chinese city that we’re pleased to be flying directly to from Singapore. Already an economic and cultural hub, Jinan will have a bigger role to play in Shandong’s growth through further integration with its neighbouring cities, leading to a growing affluent population who might see Singapore as a preferred holiday destination. Its prosperous modern city surroundings aside, Jinan also possesses some 2,000 years of abundant historical relics, and visitors from Singapore and the region can take the opportunity to relax in the acclaimed city of springs,” said Ho Yuen Sang, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Tigerair.

For cultural and historical buffs, Jinan is the cradle of the Longshan Relics Culture and one can find out more about the reputed prehistoric culture of China in Jinan. For visitors who would like to enjoy some relaxing moments, Jinan is well-known for its 72 famous springs around town, bubbling up through the same limestone that forms nearby Tai Shan, a sacred Taoist mountain and major regional attraction. The city is also the home of the popular Shandong cuisine, one of the eight great culinary traditions of China.

To celebrate the launch of the only direct flight between Singapore and Jinan, Tigerair is pleased to offer customers a special promotional one-way fare of $155 (includes 15kg pre- paid luggage allowance, a hot meal onboard, and tax from Singapore) for travel between September and October 2014.
