(AIRCRAFT INTERIORS EXPO, Hamburg, Germany, 8-10 April) – At Stand 5D60, TIMCO Aerosystems will be introducing its 3040 FeatherWeightTM Premium Economy seat, designed and built to provide passengers with increased personal space and amenities while utilising less space. TIMCO Aerosystems, a division of TIMCO Aviation Services, Inc. and business unit of the Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (“HAECO”), developed the seat in response to growing demand by operators from around the world seeking to implement their own variations of the fast-growing premium economy cabin.
On the new 3040 seat, TIMCO engineers developed a reduced centre console, more under-seat clearance and a redesigned arm rest that is more traditional for premium economy seats. The result is a seat that can be installed at a pitch as narrow as 38” without inhibiting the ease of egress for passengers — even when the seat back of the forward seat is at full recline. And for the seated passenger, the perceived “living space” is enhanced due to greater hip clearance from the newly designed arm-rests and centre console.
The seat, part of TIMCO’s family of FeatherWeightTM branded interiors products, also embodies engineering design that produces low overall weight, thereby saving operators fuel costs.
Rick Salanitri, President of TIMCO Aerosystems said: “We have carefully listened to what airlines and their customers have been seeking in this still-evolving seat segment. Our engineers worked to successfully create a new seat that delivers a premium treatment without sacrificing cabin footprint. I’m very proud of their efforts and look forward to sharing the 3040 with customers.”
