Moscow, December 22, 2010 – Within its ongoing fleet development and renewal program Transaero has recently acquired a Boeing 747-400 with a two-class configuration. This aircraft will accommodate up to 521 passengers: twelve seats in business class and 509 in economy class. The jetliner will be operated on high-capacity routes to leisure destinations.
Under the singed agreements eleven additional Boeing 747-400s in this configuration will be added to Transaero’s fleet over the next two years. The aircraft will be integrated into Transaero’s fleet on financial leasing contracts as replacements for the company’s current Classic 747 aircraft.
Transaero also plans to purchase four Boeing 777-300s next year. Those jetliners offer enhanced ergonomics in a four-class configuration and will be able to accommodate up to 373 passengers. The 777-300s will be operated on both Transaero’s domestic and international routes.
