Transaero Airlines announces record-breaking passenger numbers for July 2014

Moscow, August 11, 2014, – Transaero Airlines carried more than 1.5 million passengers last month, achieving the airline’s best ever result for July. Passenger traffic increased by 8% over July 2013.

Transaero also recorded a 15% increase in the number of premium (Imperial, Business and Premium) class passengers in comparison with July 2013.

The number of transit passengers also increased by 25% over July 2013.

In 2013 Transaero adopted a five-year development strategy – “Rational growth, efficiency and strategic focus” – to enhance the company’s operational and financial efficiency. With a focus on improving quality, its cost reduction programme delivered savings of 5.9 billion rubles (USD $ 169 million).
