Moscow, July 28, 2011 – Transaero Airlines, Russia’s second-largest airline, announces its operational results for the first six months and June 2011 which demonstrate stable development of the carrier and significant growth rate of key indicators.
According to January-June results 2011:
· Revenue passenger-kilometers (RPK) totaling 14.32 billion, 25.8% more than for the same period last year
· Passenger volume constituting 3.44 million passengers, 24% more than for the period January-June 2010
· 21,135 tons of mail and cargo delivered, 34.9% more than in the first 6 months in 2010
· Revenue ton-kilometers (RTK) totaling 1.41 billion, 58.4% more than in the same period last year
In June 2011:
· Revenue passenger-kilometers (RPK) totaling 3.1 billion, 32.2% more than for in June 2010
· Passenger volume constituted 919,555 passengers, 32.2% more than in the same month last year
Commenting on H1 2011 operating results, Olga Pleshakova, General Director of Transaero Airlines, said: «The results for the first six months of Transaero’s jubilee year are the best in the company’s 20-year history. It is important to note that the company’s growth rate for this period has exceeded the industry average by two times and its results for the month of June, by three times. These solid results demonstrate once again that the strategy set by the company’s management is appropriate and is being successfully implemented by our highly-skilled staff».
