UIA proves compliance with international standards of operational safety for the fourth time

June 2011, following a scheduled IATA Operational Safety Audit, the new IOSA registration issued for Ukraine International Airlines has become operational.

This year, UIA has once again successfully passed the IOSA audit in compliance with current operational safety requirements and has received its fourth IOSA Operator Certificate.

The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), launched in 2003, is the internationally recognized standardized programme of auditing airline operational management and control systems aimed at improving industry operational safety.

The IOSA audit is conducted every two years and embraces all aspects of the airline’s activities which contribute to airline operational safety, including Maintenance and Flight Operation, Aircraft and Passenger Ground Handling, Cargo Operations, Corporate Organisation and Management, In Flight Services, and Operational Safety.

IATA requirements for operational safety and quality standards and recommendations are regularly upgraded The latest revision of the IOSA Standards regarding operational safety management and control was issued in October 2010. The overall number of the IATA safety standards and recommended practices was increased from 916 to 990.
