Air Tribe said today that it received all permits from the DGAC to have heavy aircraft capability.
The 29th of September Air Tribe organized an event in Queretaro to show their first heavy aircraft, a Convair 580, to a group of interested freight forwarders and logistic companies.
Noel Rude, CEO of Air Tribe, said that they are scheduled to begin operating their first Convair 580 by the end of October. The Convair will fly adhoc charters while the company plans to expand into ACMI programs with additional aircraft.
The CV 580 series aircraft has a payload capacity of 15000 lbs (6800 kg), and 2450 cubic feet (69 cubic meters) volume with a 120 inch (304 cm) cargo door. The Convair 580 will be the largest and fastest turboprop operating in Mexico.
