UTair selects TES as Engine Fleet Management Partner

UTair Aviation JSC of Tyumen, Russia has selected TES Aviation Group (TES) of Wales, UK as their engine fleet management partner for the fixed wing fleet of aircraft.

TES will be supporting UTair in direct partnership for all off-wing technical and commercial engine management activities, with the objectives to reduce cost of engine operations and manage the residual asset value of each engine for maximum gain to UTair.

UTair Aviation ranks among the top three airlines in Russia. In 2011 UTair aircraft transported 6,750,425 passengers. In 2012 the airline expects an increased transport volume of up to 10 million passengers. The airline operates more than 200 fixed wing aircraft and performs flights to 110 destinations in Russia and around the world. The airline maintains its central hub at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, from which it performs 100 flights daily. UTair also has the world’s largest helicopter fleet with over 330 operated globally.

Igor Petrov Chief Financial Officer of UTair Aviation said "Partnership with the market leader in this field, combined with the high quality of work will contribute to the aims set by the airline to achieve the optimal cost management system. Fundamentally a new scheme of maintenance engines will help us to control this activity more effectively to forecast expenses.”

TES Aviation Group is a market leader in engine asset management with a global engine portfolio in excess of 900 engines across all engine types valued in excess of $3.5BN. Its client partner base benefit from innovative engine fleet management solutions provided by the largest and most experienced consultant powerplant engineering group in the world, and supplemented by a growing asset base of engines available for green-time leasing and quality overhauled parts to significantly reduce the cost of engine maintenance events and overall cost of ownership/operation.

TES will utilise its global shareholder base and market leading position to effectively support the growth plans of UT Air. Given the significance of engine maintenance costs in the overall operating costs of an airline, and the magnitude of the financial risks associated with engines, a robust engine management program is essential to all forward thinking and profit focussed airlines.

Steven Taylor SVP Sales and Marketing of TES said “It has been a privilege to work alongside the professional and forward thinking team of UTair in establishing a critical partnership for effective engine fleet management. The UTair team are committed to success, and we at TES are equally committed to help UTair realise key objectives in managing engine asset residual value and lowering engine maintenance costs. We look forward to a very fruitful partnership with all at UTair.”

Ashley Cooper CEO of TES added “We are delighted to welcome UTair to TES’ growing customer base. Our team will be working closely with UTair looking at all aspects of engine operating cost per flying hour utilising our strengths in technical and commercial management as well as inventory and lease engine provisioning. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with UTair.”
