SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Virgin America today reported its preliminary operational results for July and July year-to-date. Virgin America’s July 2013 traffic (revenue passenger miles) rose 4.7 percent on a 0.3 percent increase in capacity (available seat miles) compared with July 2012.
Load factor for July was 82.5 percent, up 3.5 points from July 2012, and the number of onboard passengers rose 5.4 percent compared with the same month last year.
Virgin America estimates July 2013 passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) to have increased by between 6.5 and 7.5 percent, compared with July 2012.
