Virgin America Reports September 2013 Operational Results

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Virgin America today reported its preliminary operational results for September and September year-to-date. Virgin America’s September 2013 traffic (revenue passenger miles) decreased 8.4 percent on capacity (measured in available seat miles) that was 7.3 percent lower than in September 2012.

Load factor was 76.3 percent, a 0.9 point decrease from the same month a year earlier. The number of onboard passengers decreased 4.5 percent compared with September 2012.

Virgin America estimates September 2013 passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) to have increased by approximately 11 percent, compared with the same month in 2012.
