Virgin Australia announces additional flights to meet demand

Virgin Australia group of airlines today announced plans for additional capacity over the next two weeks, confirming it will add 64 domestic services to meet increased demand for flights and to support the Australian travel and tourism industry.

On sale now for travel between October 31 and November 13 2011, the new services will provide around 9,000 extra seats and will be operated by Virgin Australia aircraft and crew between Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Virgin Australia confirmed that it will continue to offer competitively priced fares and conduct sale campaigns as planned.

The airline will continue to review demand and provide more updates on capacity as necessary.

Today’s announcement follows Virgin Australia’s confirmation last week that it was providing 3,000 additional seats per week up to 30 October 2011.
