Antwerp, December 18 2014 – VLM Airlines has today signed a long-term support agreement with PowerJet, manufacturer of the SaM146 engine that powers the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100).

In October 2014, VLM Airlines announced the airline would become the first European operator of the long-range SSJ100 LR regional aircraft.

Claude Poulain, chairman and CEO of PowerJet, adds: “We are extremely pleased to sign this SaM146 engine support agreement with VLM Airlines, confirming PowerJet’s commitment to offering a complete support package. We are also very proud of being able to provide VLM Airlines with a state-of-the-art engine that combines high performance and high reliability, and is very well-suited to the specific needs of both charter and scheduled services.”
