Volaris applies for AOC in El Salvador

Volaris plans to obtain its El Salvadorian AOC in January 2019, after initially filing for the air operator’s certificate in October 2018, according to the Salvadorian Civil Aviation Authority.

By obtaining the AOC in El Salvador, Volaris will strengthen its presence in the country. The airline will therefore be able to hire local staff for both their administrative tasks to the crew of its aircraft.

Volaris will also obtain the right to perform flights to any destination under existing agreements signed by El Salvador.

No word yet on the fleet expected to be based in the country.
