CALGARY, Nov. 4, 2014 /CNW/ – WestJet today announced October 2014 traffic results with a load factor of 77.4 per cent. Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 6.8 per cent year over year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 9.2 per cent over the same period. The airline flew a record 1.6 million guests in October, a year-over-year increase of 6.0 per cent or approximately 90,000 additional guests, and achieved an on-time performance rate of 87.4 per cent in the month, an improvement of 4.3 percentage points.
“We are pleased with our continued strong traffic growth as we welcomed a record 1.6 million guests into our network in October,” said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky. “I want to thank our more than 10,000 WestJetters for their continued dedication and hard work as we move into our busy winter season.”
