Ukrainian carrier Windrose Airlines has opted for aeronautical solutions from Lufthansa Systems, specifically the Lido/iRouteManual and Lido/Enroute cockpit solutions and iPad apps. Both companies recently signed a five-year contract to this effect.
Lido/iRouteManual provides the airline with navigation charts for take-off and landing procedures as well as airport and route charts. Generated directly from the Lido navigation database, the charts contain all of the important route information including altitude and airport data. They display true-to-scale geographic information such as terrain features and rivers. The app offers pilots an opportunity to access professional navigation charts for instrument flights (IFR charts) on their iPad. Updated charts will be provided for download every week so that the latest versions are always available for pilot briefings. Furthermore, Lido/Enroute enables Windrose Airlines to provide its pilots with worldwide, fully dynamic and interactive enroute charts for all of its flights on Apple’s iPad.
Established in 2003 in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, Windrose Airlines is based at Boryspil International Airport near Kiev. The airline operates private charter flights to Europe and the Middle East.
