The economic balance sheet of the CEFEPRA for Aerolineas was positive, from the initial investment (infrastructure, simulators, spare parts and operating expenses) amounted to 26.090.040 dollars; whilst the savings produced by not sending pilots to train abroad was by renegotiating contracts of 3.675.242 dollars and 22.550.606 dollars. On the other hand to this stage, $253.750 were received for the sale of hours of instruction to third parties, resulting in a positive balance of 389.558 dollars.
Aerolíneas Argentinas completed the equipment of its Center for formation and training of pilots of the Republic Argentina (CEFEPRA) with certification and implementation of a fourth Flight Simulator installed in the industrial plant of the company in Ezeiza.
The national administration of Civil Aviation (ANAC) today certified the Flight Simulator for training of pilots of the Airbus A-330 (suitable also for configuration of A-340 from April 2014) and thus Aerolíneas Argentinas and Austral recovered the ability to educate and empower all of its pilots with the highest standards of training around the world materializing the historical fact of recovering a training centre that was symbolic for the country, as was the centre of instruction of flights (CIV) known as the “Catalinas simulators” of Retiro, which was closed and scrapped by various private airline administrations of the past.
With full performance, the CEFEPRA instructs and trains 1,400 national and foreign pilots per semester, which allows a significant savings by not having to pay out the instruction and the costs of pilots, and on the other hand achieve genuine income from leasing the services to foreign companies.
The CEFEPRA now has four dynamic simulators, two for pilots of Boeing 737 NG, in 700 and 800 versions, one for Embraer e-190, and the latter for A-330. It also has three static equipment VPT (Virtual Procedure Trainer), for the three types of aircraft, which are used for basic flight training.
Today in the CEFEPRA pilots are trained from COPA AIRLINES, subsidiary Panama and Colombia; CONVIASA; TAME (Ecuador air line); ANAC, Embraer and Consult Air.
The work was carried out in the record time of 18 months (from September 2011 to February 2013); classroom instruction and other services were put in place on November 5 last year and the first courses and qualifications for foreign pilots began in December of that same year.
The training centre was officially opened by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner on March 26 this year.
