Xiamen Airlines optimizes scheduling with IT from Lufthansa Systems

Lufthansa Systems today announced that the Chinese airline Xiamen Airlines has opted for its NetLine/Sched IT solution to optimize its medium- and short-term fleet planning. The two companies recently signed a five-year agreement to this effect.

The NetLine/Sched scheduling management solution will enable the Chinese airline to arrange its schedules to make the best possible use of its fleet. The solution’s high degree of automation supports planners and speeds up processes. “What-if” scenarios and their cost-effectiveness are also continually taken into account during planning. The system’s high-quality optimization tools improve flight schedules in terms of operational and economic considerations. Additional modules support airlines in related areas such as slot management and aircraft rotation.

“After an intensive evaluation phase, the performance of the schedule management solution from Lufthansa Systems won us over,” said Mr. Jiang Wen, the General Manager of Flight Network & Capacity Department at Xiamen Airlines. “We expect it to help us make even better use of our continually growing fleet.”

“Optimized scheduling is a decisive competitive factor for airlines. We are therefore delighted to be able to support our new customer Xiamen Airlines with our NetLine/Sched solution,” said Olivier Krüger, Senior Vice President Regional Management Asia Pacific at Lufthansa Systems. “Xiamen Airlines is one of the largest airlines in China. This will enable us to further expand our position in Asia.”
